About the Role:

To ensure that customers receive high quality, safe and standards-compliant Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), Seegrid seeks a Quality Engineer (QE), who will participate in the design and modification of new vehicles, existing vehicles, accessories, and support software. The QE must be able to assess the impact of various design decisions on vehicle reliability during system design, component selection, and manufacturing process development (control/capability), using mathematical, statistical analysis, and industry standards. Critical field information must be gathered and analyzed for improvement opportunities and avoidance of performance degradation (or product failure) to optimize customer satisfaction and return on investment.

This role frequently requires properly and safely lifting electronic equipment weighing up to 25 pounds and to a height of 3-5 feet for installation, maintenance, and inspection. The QE can expect frequent exposure to sustained noise (vehicle warning signals) and flashing lights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs inspections and sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products
  • Assists in developing quality control methods and evaluating product limitations
  • Provides Quality Metrics Reports and related data analysis for cross-functional teams
  • Provides Engineering support for Quality Control (QC) technical staff regarding reliability screening, process improvement, and finished goods inspection/ testing
  • Initiates and drives problem solving/8D activities internally or at customer sites in response to performance degradation or product field failure
  • Works with Seegrid Engineering/Manufacturing/Supply Chain/ Service to resolve quality problems that might be unique to customer applications
  • Works with supplier management/ Supplier QE to ensure selection of components and product application from reliability perspective
  • Provides and participates in process improvement
  • Conducts regular quality reviews with stakeholders in support of improved product reliability

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (or acceptable related Engineering discipline)
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, software testing standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Capable of following strict adherence to detailed specifications
  • Visual acuity necessary to inspect material and workmanship to published specifications
  • Ability to operate computer and electronic equipment requiring fine adjustment and data entry
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Quality in automotive or electromechanical technology industries
  • Familiarity with ISO9001, ISO/TS16949 or equivalent standards
